Hi Paul,
I will tell Bernard about you mentioning Kevin Clinton as he will remember him. Unfortunately Bernard is not yet on the Internet but I am working on him.
I saw the posting by Kevin Brosnahan and last year I had an email from his brother Michael. I read a novel by Mikes wife Geradine Oneill and she gave thanks to her husband Mike and family living in Stockport. I knew Kevin and Mike had moved there so I made contact and it was the same family. Longsight folk seem to be everywhere.
My husband was not one of St Roberts lot. I actually met him when I went to Notre Dame teacher training college in Liverpool. He was my penfriend. They say the pen is mightier than the sword. We were married forty years ago in St Roberts.

Regards Maureen.

Maureen,
I remember your family, especially Bernard who was in the year below me at Bede's and I remember your house on the right hand side as you came from church. One of the Brosnahan's has commented on the blog and I put him in touch with a teacher he remembered, Mr Cathcart, who now lives in Queensland.
If Bernard has any memories of Bede's he would like to share tell him to contact me on my e-mail, malpas46@eircom.net. I am in contact with a few people from his year, especially Kevin Clinton who was in his class at Robert's.
He would have also heard of Tony Heap's tragic death in the 1980's.
I know Eileen Connor, now Smith, well and was tal;king at length with her at the funeral. Although I do not have her e-mail address I will get it for you in the next few days.
There was a Lockwood family living in the parish as far as I can remember, did you marry one of them.
Have you read my latest posting about Mrs Connor's funeral, Ma Wallace was in the church and looked well for her years, however I restrained myself when it came to a chance of an introduction.
Keep in touch and I will be back to you shortly.

Hi Paul,
Just came across your website. It brought back many memories both good and bad. I remember your family as I'm sure your dad bred budgies and I got my first one from him. I named him Peter but had to change it to Petra when an egg was laid.
I too was on the receiving end of Ma Wallaces temper when I got a wallop on both hands for moving after the whistle went at the end of playtime. I was six years old. Happy days!!
You may remember my family. My mum Eileen and dad Charles Howarth and my brothers Vincent. Terry and Bernard all went to St Roberts.Bernard also had the misfortune to attend St Bedes and loathed every minute.
I can remember several people you mentioned.
Our family lived at 27Hector Road next to the Brosnahan family. We later moved to 134 Hamilton road but eventually left the area. However Bernard still lives in Longsight near Crowcroft Park.
Stephanie Gill nee Power got in touch just yesterday
. Both you and she mentioned Eileen Conner. All three of us were in the same class and I would love to hear from her if possible.
By the I became a primary school teacher but I hope my former pupils will have better memories of me.
Kind regards
Maureen.
